Inspire is a member of the IOL (Institute for Outdoor Learning), which supports, develops and promotes excellent practice in learning through outdoor experiences.
Paul Marshall, Director, holds the APIOL (Accredited Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor Learning) and is also now a mentor to others working towards this award.
APIOL is a professional accreditation that demonstrates a benchmark standard in outdoor learning, it demonstrates that practitioners are; rounded professionals, who not only run activities safely but can also design and manage programmes; reflect on what they have learned and continue to develop as professionals; have broad experience and deep understanding about their work; are part of a moderated process with quality assurance mechanisms; have a frame work for staff training and development.
Inspire consulting and coaching is registered with the AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority) as licensed to provide specified activities. These activities are: kayaking, open canoeing, improvised raft building, rock climbing, abseiling, gorge scrambling and off road cycling. If you are considering organizing a reward day, away day or a corporate day out for your team, company or clients and want total flexibility to suit your schedule and budget, please browse through the list of outdoor adventure activities below. Once you have selected which activities you are interested in, please call (01600 891515) or email us with your group size, dates, and additional requirements such as accommodation or meeting room facilities. We will then contact you to discuss your specific objectives, programme of events and pricing.
Gorge Scrambling
Gorge scrambling is very popular and is a great social activity that is a lot of fun. Based in South Wales, this is an activity where you will get wet. Climbing a series of waterfalls and scrambling over the rocks as well as balancing along ledges above the water. We also venture through a tunnel with the water rushing through, so not for the faint hearted! This activity has something for everyone, is suitable for all ages, can be quite challenging and enjoyed by all.
Price £40 per person including all activity and safety equipment; duration approximately 3 ½ hours.
Open Canoe Trips
Using traditional open canoes requires good communication skills, co–operation and understanding of your partner to be successful. You will be guided down a section of the picturesque River Wye enjoying the scenery and shooting rapids. Working in pairs your instructor will teach you the basic skills and techniques required to enable you to take on the Symonds Yat rapids and beyond. A great activity to encourage team work and bonding.
Price £45 per person including all activity and safety equipment; duration approximately 3 ½ hours.
Climbing and Abseiling
The cliffs of the Wye Valley offer a variety of venues for climbing with a good mixture of grades so there is something for everyone. Your instructors will provide you with the skills and techniques to enable you to successfully climb the rock face, and also have the experience to coach and adapt the activity to suit all abilities. A good activity for building trust with colleagues and to personally challenge yourself. Abseiling is how you descend a cliff using ropes. Attached to a safety rope and an abseil rope you will lower yourself down the rock. There are a range of abseils available from 30ft up to about 85ft.

High Level Ropes Adventure
Inspire has access to high and low level ropes course elements. Ideal for team building courses as well as a being stand alone challenging and fun activity. Once fitted with your harness and helmet you will start off with low level challenges such as the crate stack. As confidence builds then the challenge can be increased. The trapeze and high all aboard are just a few of the elements that your instructor will guide you through. Experience the thrill and speed of the zip wire flying from the launch platform through the trees at speed.

Mountain Biking
Your instructors will provide you with the basic skills and techniques to mountain bike along with coaching your group and adapting this activity to suit all abilities. Guided cycle gentle forest trails stopping off at view points for panoramic views of the River Wye, or if more of a challenge is required, some serious off roading with tight, technical trails drop offs and downhill sections all located in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

Orienteer Challenge
Using permanently set out courses in the Forest of Dean navigate yourself around the course finding the control points competitively or just for fun, an activity for all ages and abilities. After your initial instruction you will be set off on a course that matches your ability level and ambition. As your skill level increases, the complexity of the course will increase testing your navigation skills. This activity can be adapted to become a challenge to test team skills.
