Inspire is a member of the IOL (Institute for Outdoor Learning), which supports, develops and promotes excellent practice in learning through outdoor experiences.
Paul Marshall, Director, holds the APIOL (Accredited Practitioner of the Institute for Outdoor Learning) and is also now a mentor to others working towards this award.
APIOL is a professional accreditation that demonstrates a benchmark standard in outdoor learning, it demonstrates that practitioners are; rounded professionals, who not only run activities safely but can also design and manage programmes; reflect on what they have learned and continue to develop as professionals; have broad experience and deep understanding about their work; are part of a moderated process with quality assurance mechanisms; have a frame work for staff training and development.
Inspire consulting and coaching is registered with the AALA (Adventure Activities Licensing Authority) as licensed to provide specified activities. These activities are: kayaking, open canoeing, improvised raft building, rock climbing, abseiling, gorge scrambling and off road cycling. Rock Climbing and Abseiling in The Wye Valley and South Wales
Rock and Paddle Adventure day offer
On every Wednesday only throughout July and August, come and try 2 activities in 1 day at a discounted price. Learn how to successfully scale the cliff faces at Symonds Yat whilst not forgetting the challenge of abseiling back down again! Then spend the afternoon paddling down the River Wye learning basic skills and techniques to take on the rapids! Great fun for family and friends. Prices £70 adults and £40 children. Duration approximately 7 hours and includes all safety and activity equipment. Call now to book your place.
The limestone cliffs of the Wye Valley offer a variety of venues for climbing with a good mixture of grades and ideally suited for a good introduction to the sport. We offer something for everyone whether it is your first climb, or you are an experienced lead climber.
Ideally situated on the Welsh border it is not to far to drive to other climbing venues more suited to people who have climbed before. Here you can improve techniques and push your personal grade.
Abseiling – The only way is down! Once you have reached the top of your climb, enjoy coming back down to earth.
Abseiling is how you descend a cliff using ropes. Attached to a safety rope and an abseil rope you will lower yourself down the rock. There are a range of abseils available from 30ft up to about 85ft.
